"Curiosity" panel

This set of photographs (full image and section enlargements) is of an opalescent stained glass panel measuring 47” x 40” (framed) entitled “Curiosity” depicting a woman exploring the water’s edge.

Housed in a free-standing easel/frame, key features of this panel include its overall design elements, its fine execution in the copper-foil technique and its range of textured glass used throughout. Rippled opalescents (leaves; bottom background) and heavily folded drapery glass accents (branches; water; dress) mix to produce a unique visual effect. The confetti glass background contrasts with the leaded branches as another feature of note.

Structural soundness is achieved via a series of reinforcing bars that are embedded unnoticeably within the solder line in the rear of the panel.
